The petitioner herein is now facing insolvency proceedings is before this Court seeks direction to the respondent police not to harass him.
2. The Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submits that multiple complaints have been received against the petitioners herein alleging cheating by running a chit fund. When summons were served on them to participate in the enquiry, in spite of participating in the enquiry, they have come before this Court alleging that they are harassed.
3. This Court finds no merit in this petition seeking protection under the guise of alleging police harassment. Though one of the petitioner is facing insolvency proceedings, it cannot be a bar for the police to investigate the complaint, which prima facie made out as a cognizable offence. Therefore, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
