ORDER

(made by R.SURESH KUMAR, J.) The prayer sought for herein is for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and dispose of the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 29.05.2025 for grant of permission to run a Bunk Shop in Zone 5, Ward 51, on the Manikandan 5th Street or order direction of nature of writ.

2. Though a representation has been made by the petitioner dated 29.05.2025 to establish a bunk shop at the given address under the provisions of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation, on instructions would submit that the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 29.05.2025 would be forwarded to the Town Vending Committee, which would look 2/5

into the matter and decide the same whether the plea raised by the petitioner to have a street vending business in the locality is feasible and in that way, a decision would be taken in accordance with law.

3. He would further submit that insofar as setting up of the bunk shop is concerned, since it is prohibited it cannot be permitted, but at the same time, if any possibility to permit the petitioner to have a push cart in that locality is concerned, that also would be taken care of and decided by the Town Vending Committee.

4. Recording the said submission made by the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation, a direction is given to that effect to the respondent Corporation to decide the representation of the petitioner dated 29.05.2025 within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
