ORDER

The revision has been filed seeking a direction to the Appellate Authority, namely, the Secretary, Commercial Tax and Registration Department, Secretariat, Chennai to expedite the disposal of the Appeal No.5860743 of 2023.

2. The revision petitioners are sureties, who have offered their immovable property as security in a chit transaction. The decree holder has proceeded against the said immovable property, which was offered as a security by the revision petitioner and an order came to be passed by the Executing Court, namely Additional District Judge, Ponnerri.

3. Aggrieved by the said order, the revision petitioner has preferred an appeal before the Appellate Authority, namely, the Secretary, Commercial Tax and Registration Department, Secretariat, Chennai.

4. Considering the limited relief sought for in the revision and after hearing Mrs.P.Srividya, learned counsel for the contesting first respondent/decree holder, I am inclined to dispose of the revision with a direction to the Appellate Authority to dispose of the pending Appeal No.5860743 of 2023 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Till the disposal of the appeal, the respondent shall not take any coercive steps against the revision petitioners alone.

5. With the above observations and directions, this Civil revision petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 14-10-2025 mrp 3/4
