JUDGEMENT [Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH.J.,] This contempt petition has been filed aggrieved by the order dated 28.10.2022 in contempt petition No.1051 of 2022 passed by a learned single Judge of this Court directing the appellant to pay a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only) to the respondent (wife) herein towards the arrears of maintenance.
2. On 29.11.2022, this court passed the following order:- "By order dated 22.11.2022, we had directed the appellant/respondent to produce a demand draft for Rs.5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs only) in the name of the 1 st respondent. 2. Today, the learned counsel appearing for the appellant handed over a demand draft drawn on HDFC dated 28.11.2022 bearing No.004541 in the name of B.Karthiga (1 st respondent herein) for Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only) which was handed over to the 1 st respondent through her counsel. Post on 13.12.2022 for reporting encashment."
3. The learned counsel for the 1st respondent, on instructions, submitted that a demand draft for Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only) has been realized by the 1st respondent (wife).
4. Since the appellant (husband) has complied with the order of the learned single Judge dated 28.10.2022 in Cont.P.No.1051 of 2022 nothing survives in this Contempt Appeal and the same is accordingly closed. Consequently, connected CMP also closed.
