Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 6 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.07.2025 to remove the encroachment and reclaim the government-owned Nawal Kulam comprised in Survey No.30/11 for an extent of 22.50 ares i.e. 55 cents situated at Kanathur Reddykuppam Village from the Voora Property Developers Pvt. Limited that has encroached on it, bring it back under the control of the government and make it available for the use by the general public of our Kanathur Reddy Kuppam Village, Thiruporur Taluk, Chengalpattu District.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The allegation with regard to encroachment on waterbody by a private party has given rise to the present petition filed by the petitioner in Pro Bono capacity, styled as public interest litigation.

2. We find that a representation was made on 24.07.2025 and without waiting for a reasonable time, the petitioner has filed this petition.

3. In these circumstances, we are not inclined to keep this petition pending, but to dispose of the matter leaving it open for the respondent authorities to examine the complaint. In case, the complaint is not examined within a reasonable period, say six months, it would be open for the petitioner to take out appropriate remedy. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the interim application stands closed.
