ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking to issue a Writ of Certiorari, calling for the records pertaining to the impugned communication 1/4

No.4063/RD/SRO(O)/Audit/2019/01/200, dated 25.09.2019 passed by the Respondent and quash the same.

2. Heard Mr.R.Mugundhan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Nirmal Kumar, learned Government Advocate (Pondicherry) appearing for the Respondent.

3. The petitioner has challenged the impugned notice dated 25.09.2019 demanding to pay a sum of Rs.1,75,000/- towards stamp duty, which is a concession given to the female member to secure a property.

4. Today, Mr.M.Nirmal Kumar, learned Government Advocate (Pondicherry) appearing for the Respondent would submit that subsequent to the filing of the Writ petition, the Government of Puducherry passed an order on 06.10.2022 in No.8834/DRDM/C3/SD/2018-II, regarding the 2/4

remission of 50% of Stamp duty to women member(s) permanently residing in the Union territory of Puducherry, who acquire property through conveyance by way of sale, Exchange or gift either individually or severally. In view of the same, the respondent is not pressing the impugned notice dated 25.09.2019.

5.Recording the submissions of the learned Government Advocate appearing for the Respondent, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
