Mandamus, calling for the records of the First to Third and Sixth Respondents and to quash the Government Order passed in C.I.A.O. UO Note No. 45565/10041/P1/UII dated 24.02.1993 passed by the Sixth Respondent so far as the Petitioner is concerned and direct the First to Third Respondents to cancel the name of one Chellammal and to incorporate the Petitioner's name K.Saroja in the service register of one M.Kaliamoorthi, the Petitioner's husband.

Though the matter has been posted under the caption 'for dismissal', there was no representation for the Petitioner when the matter was called at 12.18 p.m. today, apart from the earlier hearing on 02.03.2022. There does not appear to be any useful purpose being served in keeping the Writ Petition pending indefinitely when the Petitioner is not interested in prosecuting the same.

2. In such circumstances, the Writ Petition is dismissed for non-prosecution. It is made clear that the Petitioner is not precluded from applying for revival of the Writ Petition, if necessary, in accordance with law. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs.
