ORDER

(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.S.Senthil Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader for respondents 1 to 5.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the 100 feet width Thangal Water Canal in Survey No.312 is being reduced by constructing a wall.

3. Learned State Government Pleader submits that the authorities will look into the issue and steps would be taken to ensure that encroachment is not made in the 100 feet width Thangal Water Canal situated in Survey No.312.

4. We accept the said statement made by learned State Government Pleader.

5. The respondent authorities shall conduct a survey within two weeks from today and take further steps in accordance with law, if encroachment is found.

6. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
