Heard Mr.D.Saravanan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner.
2. The revision petitioner is the fourth respondent in A.S.No.17 of 2018 pending before the II Additional District and Sessions Court, Poonamallee. The revision petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of the said appeal which is pending for more than seven years. A suit was originally filed in the year 2010 and subsequently, it was dismissed, against which, the plaintiff preferred the first appeal in A.S.No.17 of 2018.
3. The grievance of the revision petitioner is that the appeal has not been taken up for final hearing, despite passage of more than seven years.
4. In view of the limited relief sought for in the revision petition, notice to the respondents is dispensed with.
5. I am inclined to allow this revision petition and give a direction to the learned II Additional District and Sessions Judge, Poonamallee, to hear the first appeal on merits and in accordance with law and dispose of the same on or before 31.12.2025. Any miscellaneous petition that is pending 2/4
shall be disposed of within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. Accordingly, this Civil Revision Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
