O R D E R
Challenging the order dated 12.08.2025 passed by the learned Principal Sessions Judge, Chennai, dismissing the petition filed by the petitioner in Crl.M.P.No.7452 of 2025 seeking extension of time to comply with the condition imposed in Crl.M.P.No.2500 of 2025 dated 27.03.2025. 1/4

The petitioner is arrayed as A3 in Crime No.114 of 2025, registered on the basis of a complaint given by the de facto complainant, K.Muthusamy, for the offences punishable under Sections 316(2), 318(2) and 61(2) of BNS. In connection with the said crime, the petitioner was arrested on 07.03.2025.
3. The learned Principal Sessions Judge, Chennai, while granting bail to the petitioner in Crl.M.P.No.2500 of 2025 on 27.03.2025, imposed a condition directing him to deposit a sum of Rs.2 lakhs to the credit of Crime No.114 of 2025 within a period of four weeks. Since the petitioner failed to comply with the said condition, he filed a petition seeking extension of time, stating that he had met with an accident, and therefore, he was unable to deposit the aforesaid amount within the stipulated time. However, the learned Judge, by an order dated 12.08.2025, dismissed the said petition holding that the petitioner had not shown any acceptable or sufficient cause for non compliance of the bail condition, on. Against the dismissal order, the present petition has been filed.
4. The de facto complainant, K.Muthusamy, is present before this Court and submitted that he has already file an application seeking 2/4
cancellation of the bail granted to the petitioner, which is still pending. He further submitted that only after receipt of notice in the said application, the petitioner come forward with the petition seeking extension of time.
5. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is now ready to deposit the amount as directed by the Court below and has also obtained a Demand Draft for the same. A copy of the Demand Draft has been produced before this Court.
6. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
7. In view of the above, this Court is inclined to grant one last opportunity to the petitioner. Accordingly, the petitioner is directed to deposit a sum of Rs.2 lakhs to the credit of Crime No.114 of 2025 before the Court concerned on or before 29.08.2025.
8. It is made clear that if the petitioner/A3 fails to deposit the said amount within the stipulated time and does not comply with the bail conditions, the learned Principal Sessions Judge, Chennai, may proceed with the petition for cancellation of bail, in accordance with law. 3/4
