The applicant seeks an extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal. It is submitted by learned senior counsel that arbitral proceedings could not be concluded within the time fixed under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996 on account of reasons specified in paragraphs 4 to 6 of the affidavit in support of this application. It is stated that arguments were concluded and that the award is to be pronounced by the arbiral tribunal.

2. Learned counsel for the respondent has no objection to this application being allowed.

3. After examining the reasons set out in the affidavit and being satisfied that sufficient cause is made out, this application is allowed and the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is extended by a period of two months from 23.12.2022.
