O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to sanction NMMS Scholarship to the petitioner from 8th standard to 12th standard based on the proceedings of the third respondent in Na.Ka.No.4651/E1/2022 dated 16.06.2022.

2. The case of the petitioner is that when the petitioner studied 8th standard, he had participated in National means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme Examination, 2017 which was conducted by the Director of Government of Tamil Nadu on 28.01.2017, in which, he scored more than 55% marks and thereby, he was eligible for NMMS Scholarship from VIII Standard to XII Standard and the said scheme is implemented by the third respondent. The third respondent has sent a proceedings dated 16.06.2022

in Na.Ka.No.4656/E1/2022 to the first respondent enclosing the details of the petitioner and the other students in respect of NMMS Examination and thereafter, the first respondent passed a proceedings in Na.Ka.No.012313/J2/2022 dated 21.07.2022 directing the third respondent to take proper action for sanctioning NMMS Scholarship, but even now, there was no disbursement of scholarship and the petitioner's father has made a representation on 20.07.2023 before the third respondent, however, the same has not been considered so far. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the third respondent is directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner's father, dated 20.07.2023 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has no serious objection for such an order being passed by this

Court.

5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 20.07.2023 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
