ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the First Information Report registered in Crime No.2006 2021 pending on the file of the respondent.

2. The allegation against the petitioner in the First Information Report is that the petitioner was bursting crackers beyond the time limit. Except the above allegation, there is no any other allegation made in the First Information Report.

3. According to the petitioner, when he was preparing to go abroad for work and when he applied for passport, he came to know about registration of the case against him. It is his contention that though the case has been registered in the year 2021, there is no progress in the investigation. Hence, seeks to quash the First Information Report registered against him.

4. A perusal of the First Information Report indicate that, except the allegation that the petitioner was bursting crackers beyond the time limit, no other allegation has been made against him. The First Information Report has been registered in the year 2021 and the prosecution is not in a position to collect any materials. In such view of the matter, this Court is of the view that keeping the First Information Report pending will not serve any purpose and in fact it will have a serious impact on the petitioner. Hence, the First Information Report is liable to be quashed.

5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed and the First Information registered in Crime No.2006 of 2021 on the file of the respondent stands quashed.
