The petition has been filed seeking bail in connection with Crime No.301 of 2025 for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 109(1), 115(2), 124(1) and 296(b) of BNS, 2023.

The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner herein pushed the defacto complainant into a hot oil oven, when he demanded repayment of the money advanced as loan. The defacto complainant sustained 80% burn injuries was admitted in the hospital and treated as an in-patient from 15.06.2025 to 30.06.2025 [16 days] and thereafter discharged. The statement of the defacto complainant indicates that the petitioner had borrowed a sum of Rs.2,70,000/- and repaid only Rs.20,000/-. Whenever the defacto complainant demanded repayment of the balance, the petitioner assaulted and threatened him and finally, on 15.06.2025, when the demand was made again, the petitioner pushed him into the hot oil oven, causing grievous injury.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police opposed the grant of bail to the petitioner and submitted that the injured apprehends retaliation at the hands of the petitioner. He further submitted that the investigation is still pending.

Considering the serious nature of the allegation and the objection raised by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), this Court is not inclined 2/4
to grant bail to the petitioner. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed for the present.
