By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the SR stage itself.

2.In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it had been stated that the petitioner was working as a Junior Engineer in the respondent Transport Corporation and retired from service upon attaining the age of superannuation on 31.07.2022. It had been stated that the petitioner was placed under suspension for a period of 3 days in the month of January, 2021 and it was regularised as eligible leave on 18.06.2021 and reduced from the earned leave, but the petitioner was not paid monetary benefits for the said period. It is his further contention that during June 2022, he was absent from duty and on submission of Medical Certificate, the same was treated as Medical Leave and reduced from the Medical Leave entitlement, however, the petitioner has not been paid for the same. In this connection, the petitioner had given a representation to the respondent on 04.05.2024.

3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned 2/4

standing counsel appearing for the respondent. 4.In the light of the above, a direction is hereby given to the respondent Corporation to examine the petitioner's Service Register and to verify whether the above payments are due and payable to the petitioner, if it is due, the same shall be paid to the petitioner with interest at 6% per annum for the delay period. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If there is any delay in paying the same beyond the stipulated time, then the rate of interest would be calculated at the rate of 12% per annum from the date on which the amount became due and payable till the date of actual disbursement. 5.With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
