PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pay the balance outstanding amount for transporting rice as per the work order dated 26.10.2022 a sum of Rs.47,88,358/- along with 12% interest per annum and for consequential orders.

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to pay the balance outstanding amount of Rs.47,88,358/- along with 12% interest per annum for transporting rice as per the work order dated 26.10.2022.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner, who has been doing transport business in the name and style of M/s.Subalakshmi Transport, has made a representation on 23.09.2024 before the respondents to pay the balance outstanding amount of Rs.47,88,358/- along with 12% interest per annum for transporting rice as per the work order dated 26.10.2022, however, the same has not been considered so far. Therefore,

the petitioner has filed the present writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the respondents are directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 23.09.2024 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has no serious objection for such an order being passed by this Court.

5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 23.09.2024 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
