PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to include the name of the petitioner in the Final Merit List for NEET based UG Medical Courses published by the third respondent dated 30.08.2024 under Government Quota by applying the reservation policy of 10% for the candidates studied in the Government School based on the representation made by the petitioner dated 20.09.2024.

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to include the name of the petitioner in the Final Merit List for NEET based UG Medical Courses published by the third respondent dated 30.08.2024 under Government Quota by applying the reservation policy of 10% for the candidates studied in the Government School based on the representation made by the petitioner dated 20.09.2024.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner attended NEET exam on 05.05.2024 and scored 347 marks out of 720 marks in NEET exam which is more than the cut-off mark for OBC candidates. While so, the third
respondent published the final merit list on 30.08.2024 for NEET Based UG Medical Courses, wherein, the name of the petitioner was not found, however, one Madhumitha and Rajesh, who secured 314 and 287 marks under the same OBC are selected for admission under Government Quota and therefore, the petitioner made a representation to the respondents on 20.09.2024 explaining all the facts, however, the same has not been considered so far. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the third respondent is directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 20.09.2024 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has no serious objection for such an order being passed by this Court.
5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 20.09.2024, and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
