ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to file the final report in the First Information Report registered in Crime No.293 of 2024

2. The case of the petitioner is that her daughter was living in a live-in relationship with one Karthikraja at a rented house in Jeeva nagar, Thirutheri, Singaperumal Koil Street, Chennai. On 04.06.2024 at about 2.30 a.m., the petitioner's daughter committed suicide by hanging. The grievance of the petitioner is that though his complaint has been registered by the respondent police in Crime No.293 of 2024 for the offence under section 174 of CRPC on 04.06.2024, the respondent police has not conducted any effective investigation and there is no progress in the investigation. Hence, the present petition. 2/4

3. The learned Government Advocate [Criminal Side] on instructions submitted that the investigation is almost over and the respondent will be filing the final report within a period of two weeks.

4. In view of the submissions of the learned Government Advocate [Criminal Side] appearing for the respondent, there shall be a direction to the respondent to file the final report within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
