JUDGMENT

(Delivered by M.M.SUNDRESH.,J) This appeal is preferred by the appellant, who was the husband of the respondent, only with respect to the quantum of alimony is concerned.

2.Considering the limited scope, we have directed the learned counsel on either side to get instructions from the parties. On the last occasion, on the suggestion of this Court, learned counsel for the respondent submitted that a sum of Rs.11,50,000/- is agreeable to the respondent. However, learned counsel for the appellant sought time.

3.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel appearing for the appellant submitted that the appellant https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

is ready and willing to pay a sum of Rs.11,50,000/- by way of total alimony payable to the respondent provided reasonable time is granted for the aforesaid payment.

4.Learned counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that this Court can fix a reasonable time.

5.Considering the above, this Civil Miscellaneous Appeal stands disposed of on the following terms:

1.The appellant shall pay a sum of Rs.11,50,000/- (Rupees Eleven Lakhs Fifty Thousand only) by way of demand draft drawn in the name of the respondent within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.

2.On the failure of the appellant to comply with the same, the judgment and decree dated 27.12.2016 in O.P.No.1210 of 2016 on the file of the Principal Judge, Family Court, Chennai shall stand restored.

No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
