The petitioner who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 4(1)(a) 4(1-A) of TNP Act in Crime No.465 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police, seek anticipatory bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 96 bottles of illicit liquor each containing 180 ml worth about Rs.6,000/-. Hence the case.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he is no way connected with the alleged offence. Hence he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner is an habitual offender against whom there is one previous case pending. Hence, he vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and also the bad antecedent of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
