These petitions have been filed seeking to grant further period of six months to complete the investigation and to file the final report as per the directions given by this Court in Crl.O.P.Nos.16646 & 16649 of 2023 dated 24.07.2023.

2. In support of the above prayer, Mr.S.Sundraraj, Inspector of Police, Vigilance and Anti Corruption Unit, Cuddalore, has filed the affidavits before this Court.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that this Court, while disposing the cases in Crl.O.P.Nos.16646 & 16649 of 2023, vide orders dated 24.07.2023 had directed the second petitioner herein/Inspector of Police, V & AC, Cuddalore, to file the final report in both the cases registered in Crime Nos.1 & 7 of 2021 within 60 days from 24.07.2023. He further submitted in due compliance of the order, investigation in both the cases have been completed and as far as the Crime No.7 of 2021 is concerned, the draft final report was made ready as early as on 25.05.2023 and in respect of Crime No.1 of 2021, the draft final report was made ready on 10.10.2023. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

He also submitted that after completion of investigation, request for approval of the draft final reports and the request for sanction were sent to the Vigilance Commissioner and the sanction is awaited from the appropriate Authority and once the sanction is obtained, the Investigation Officer will be able to file the final reports. Therefore, he sought for extension of time.

5. Recording the above submissions, this Court feels it appropriate to extend the time to file the final reports in both the cases by 60 days.

Accordingly, these Criminal Miscellaneous Petitions stand ordered and the time granted by this Court in Crl.O.P.Nos.16646 & 16649 of 2023 dated 24.07.2023 to file the final reports is extended by 60 days from today. 23.11.2023 ham Crl.M.P.Nos.18505 & 18506 of 2023 in Crl.O.P.Nos.16646 & 16649 of 2023 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
