The petitioner herein, a habitual offender, arrested on 01.05.2025 in connection with a complaint given by one Muhammed Iqbal, alleging that this 1/4
petitioner waylaid him and robbed a sum of Rs.200/- at knife point. The respondent police, on completion of investigation, have filed the final report, which is now pending before the Judicial Magistrate No.1, Poonamalle in C.C.No.131 of 2025.
2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police opposed the grant of bail to the petitioner and submitted that this petitioner is a habitual offender and history-sheeter with 23 cases against him, most of which are of a similar nature and some involving attempt to murder. He further submitted that even during pendency of earlier trials, the petitioner has indulged in similar offences and if released on bail, there is every possibility of recurrence of crime.
3. Considering the fact that the investigation has been completed and the final report filed and also the apprehension that if the petitioner released on bail he may indulge in similar offences, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 21.08.2025 rpl To 2/4
