Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a direction in the nature of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to furnish all the required relevant documents to the petitioner and to follow the principles of natural justice as enumerated under Section 87(4) of Tamil Nadu Cooperative Societies Act, 1983 and also the guidelines issued by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies in the circular No.3 of 2018 dated 25.04.2018 by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 28.07.2025.

O R D E R

This writ petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to furnish all the required relevant documents to the petitioner and to follow the principles of natural justice as enumerated under Section 87(4) of Tamil Nadu Cooperative Societies Act, 1983 and also the guidelines issued by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies in the circular No.3 of 2018 dated 25.04.2018 by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 28.07.2025.

2. When the matter came up for admission on 20.08.2025, it was adjourned at the request of the learned Special Government Pleader, for the instructions of the respondent.

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader, on instructions submitted that the surcharge order was passed as early as on 26.06.2025, that the same was communicated to the petitioner, by a registered post on 21.08.2025 and therefore, the prayer in the writ petition has become infructuous.

4. As rightly submitted by the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondent, nothing survives for further adjudication in this writ petition.

5. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of as infructuous. In any event, the petitioner is given liberty to challenge the surcharge order dated 26.06.2025, in a manner known to law, if so advised. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
