ORDER
This Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to conduct an enquiry on the representation submitted by the petitioner on 31.07.2025.

Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

The petitioner lodged a complaint against the third respondent, who is an Advocate, alleging that he received a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- for filing a suit. However, the third respondent did not file the suit for more than one year, which resulted in the petitioner lodging a complaint before the Jurisdictional police. However, the second respondent closed the complaint on the ground that both the parties had undertaken to resolve their issues before the Court. During the pendency of this writ petition, this Court referred the matter to the Mediation Centre for an amicable settlement between the parties. However, the matter has not been settled by the parties and as such, a failure report was received from the Mediation Centre of this Court.

The learned counsel appearing for the third respondent submitted that the third respondent is ready and willing to settle the matter by paying a sum of Rs.5,00,000/-. However, the petitioner did not agree to the same and insisted on payment of the entire sum of Rs.10,00,000/- 5.
In view of the above, the first respondent is directed to appoint a Special Officer in the rank of Inspector of Police to enquire into the complaint lodged by the petitioner as well as the third respondent. The said Officer is directed to conduct an enquiry and dispose of the complaint on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition (Criminal) stands disposed of. No costs.
