The Writ Petition is filed for the following relief: "calling for records in the order bearing No.TNPCS/ 3745/ 2025-EW-3-23 dated 24.05.2025 passed by respondent No.1 and the consequential order bearing No.959/Po1/ 2024 dated 29.05.2025 passed by respondent No.2 and quashing the same".
2. Challenging the order of transfer from Central Prison, Vellore to the Sub Jail, Mudukulathur, Ramanathapuram District, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition.
3. The petitioner joined the service of the respondent department as Warder Grade II at Vellore in the year 2011. The case of the petitioner is that he is a native of Vellore District and he was working at Wallaja Sub Jail from 2013 to 2018. Thereafter, the petitioner was posted at Chengam Sub Jail from 2018 to 2020. It is the case of the petitioner that he was working as a Warder Grade I, Central Prison, Vellore and he was transferred to Sub Jail, Mudukulathur, by order of 3/7
the 2nd respondent dated 29.05.2025.
4. Challenging the same, the petitioner is before this Court.
5. The learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that the father of the petitioner is also a retired prison warder, who is aged about 71 years and the petitioner's mother is a heart patient and is suffering from stroke. Therefore, the petitioner's request to retain him in Vellore, may be considered.
6. On 04.09.2025, this Court asked the learned counsel for the respondents, whether there is any possibility of accommodating the petitioner in a nearby Jail.
7. It is seen that a proceeding dated 10.09.2025 has been passed by the respondents stating that the petitioner's request has been considered and he has been posted at District Jail, Attur, which is close 4/7
to his place of residence. The learned counsel for the petitioner on instructions would submit that the petitioner is also ready and willing to join the duty at District Jail, Attur.
8. Taking into consideration the fact that the petitioner has been accommodated in the nearby Jail and the fact that the petitioner has also expressed his readiness to join duty in the said Jail, the writ petition is closed. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed. No costs.
