ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction directing the first respondent to conduct enquiry and pass orders, over the Application dated 25.06.2024 submitted by the petitioner under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the first respondent and perused the materials available on record.

3. It is seen that the petitioner lodged a complaint under Section 23 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 as against the second respondent before the first respondent. However, the competent authority is the Revenue Divisional Officer to deal with the complaint filed under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

4. Therefore, the first respondent is directed to forward the application filed by the petitioner dated 25.06.2024 to the concerned Revenue Divisional Officer, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the concerned Revenue Divisional Officer is directed to issue notice to the petitioner and the second respondent and dispose of the same, after giving an opportunity of hearing to them, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks thereafter.

5. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
