The contempt petition is filed alleging violation of order passed by this Court in W.P.No.29394 of 2016, dated 17.11.2023.

2. The petitioner herein filed a complaint before the respondent seeking police protection for conducting festival of Sri Mariamman Kovil, Vasanthapuram Village, Namakkal District. The said representation has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court complaining violation of the order passed in the writ petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent filed a status report stating that the respondent is ready to give adequate police protection to both the parties for performing Poojas and festival in the above mentioned temple. 2/4

4. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the respondent submits that today morning, the temple was opened and petitioner performed Pooja with police protection. The said statement made by the learned Government Advocate is not disputed by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner.
