ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed for a mandamus to issue a direction to the respondents to correct the wrong entries by substituting the same with correct entries, in respect of Sale Deed registered as Document No. 1375/1978, on the file of the 3rd Respondent and to issue On-line 2/6
Encumbrance Certificate for the petitioner's property located at 4/15, 2nd Cross Street, Plot No. 60, Besant Avenue (Elliots Beach Road), Karpagam Gardens, Adyar, Chennai 600 020.

The grievance of the petitioner is that in the online Encumbrance Certificate Document No. 1375 of 1978 dated 24.07.1978 has been described as a Mortgage deed dated 20.05.1978, said to have been executed by one Selva and Thiagarajan in favour of Saidapet Rural Cooperative House Building Society whereas the said document number has actually been allotted for the sale deed dated 24.07.1978 executed in favour of the petitioner.
3. By an order dated 15.11.2024, this Court had directed the respondent to produce the certified copy of the document which has been allotted Document No. 1375 of 1978. In pursuance of this order, the said document had been produced today which clearly shows that it is the sale deed in favour of the petitioner and the entry in the online 3/6
encumbrance certificate is incorrect.
4. Therefore, a mandamus is issued to the respondents to correct the entries in the encumbrance certificate and bring it in sync with the sale deed registered as Document No. 1375/1978 and to issue the corrected encumbrance certificate to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is allowed. There shall be no order as to costs.
