ORDER
Mr.L.Jai Venkatesh, learned standing counsel, accepts notice for the respondents and is armed with instructions to enable final disposal of this writ petition, even at the stage of admission.
2. The petitioner seeks a mandamus directing the third respondent, being Assistant Executive Engineer, Tangedco to provide new electricity connection to the premises situated at No.27/83, Canal Bank Road, Gandhi Nagar, Adyar, Chennai - 600 020('premises'/'premises in question'). He has also made a representation on 22.08.2023 seeking similar relief.
3. Mr.Jai Venkatesh would point out that the address of the petitioner indicates that the premises is on the banks of the Coovum which constitutes a Government property. Hence, he would oppose the request at this juncture.
4. However, seeing as the prayer is itself only for consideration of the representation, there is a direction to the R3/the Assistant Executive Engineer, TANGEDCO, Adyar Division, Adyar, Chennai - 20, to consider the representation of the 2/4
petitioner dated 22.08.2023 and pass orders there upon in accordance with law and in line with the prevailing Rules and Regulations, within a period of six weeks from date of receipt of copy of this order, after hearing the petitioner.
