(Judgment of the Court was delivered by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.) The prayer in the Writ Petition was for a Mandamus directing respondents 5 and 6 to annul the nomination of the first respondent. The Writ Court had held that in the absence of any prohibition in the Rules regarding contest by retired employees to the post of office bearers in the Employees Union, such a Mandamus cannot be issued.

2. Ms. Arul Mary learned counsel appearing for the Airport Authorities of India/respondents would submit that the elections are over and the results have also been declared.

3. In such situation, we do not see any reason to interfere with the order of the Writ Court, the Appeal fails and it is accordingly dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
