ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.Subramaniam J.) The Contempt Petition has been filed for punishing the respondents for having not obeyed the orders of this Court dated 18.02.2025 made in W.A.Nos.2563 and 895 of 2024.

2. Pursuant to the orders of this Court, an enquiry was conducted and the Government passed an order in Letter dated 10.11.2025, deciding the issues. However, the Government Order reveals that the election process will be initiated by the competent authority.

3. Learned Additional Advocate General would submit that a decision was taken and it was communicated to the Election Commission. Meanwhile, yet another Writ Petition has been filed before the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court in W.P.(MD) No.14316 of 2025 and an interim order was granted. Thus, there is a delay in completing the process of election.

4. That being the factum, the respondents have not committed any wilful disobedience of the order of this Court. Parties are at liberty to take steps for speedy disposal of the case and conduct the election in the manner known to law.

Accordingly, the Contempt Petition is closed. No costs. (S.M.S.,J.) (K.R.S.,J.) 23-01-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order ar
