O R D E R

The relief sought for in the present writ petition is for a direction to direct the respondents to provide information based on the petitioner's petition dated 01.12.2018.

2. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the writ petitioner states that the Public Information Officer / 1st respondent has not responded to the application submitted by the writ petitioner under the Right to Information Act. However, the writ petitioner has not approached the State Information Commission, which is the Appellate Forum under the said Act. In the event of failure on the part of the Public Information Officer under the Right to Information Act, the aggrieved persons are entitled to approach the State Information Commission for redressal of their grievances by filing a appropriate application. Admittedly, the writ petitioner has not filed any such appeal before the State Information Commission. Thus, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the State Information Commission for appropriate relief by filing an application as per the procedures as applicable.

3. With this liberty, the writ petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
