Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to provide death certificate of petitioner's deceased husband Mr.Shankar Raj, who died on 01.12.2021 by considering petitioner's representation dated 05.06.2023, 13.07.2023 and consequently direct the 1st respondent to pay compensation of Rs.50,000/- to the petitioner for delay in processing the death certificate of petitioner's deceased husband.

ORDER

Read this order in continuation of and in conjunction with order dated 13.10.2022 that reads as follows:- "Mr.Anantha Kumar, learned Government Advocate accepts notice for R1 and R2 and Mr.Rahul Aditya, learned counsel on behalf of Ms.P.T.Ramadevi, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice for R3. They seek sometime to obtain instructions and file counters.

2. In the meanwhile, Revenue Divisional Officer, Chennai Central Zone/R1 will hear the petitioner and process representations dated 05.06.2023 and 13.07.2023 and also issue a death certificate, if the application is found in order. He may also call upon the petitioner to furnish any details, if necessary to process the application.

3. List on 15.11.2023. Counter by then with an advance copy served upon the petitioner."

Mr.Anandakumar, circulates a copy of proceedings br/K.vz; 3991/-2023-m3 dated Nil, November, 2023 passed post the enquiry upon representations dated 05.06.2023 and 13.07.2023. Certain directions have been issued under the aforesaid order to the Corporation for issuance of necessary certificates and a copy of the 2/4

same has been supplied to Mr.Rahul, who appears for Chennai Corporation.

It is now for the Corporation to issue the death certificate as sought for by the petitioner, for which purpose, the petitioner may approach the Zonal Welfare Officer, Greater Chennai Corporation /R3 with a copy of proceedings dated Nil, November, 2023. Let the certificate be issued within a period of two weeks from appearance of the petitioner before R3.

Writ petition stands disposed in terms of this order. No costs.
