The petitioner is the 2nd accused in Crime No.662 of 2023 registered by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(aaa), 4(1-A)(ii) of TNP Act and Sections 6 & 7 of TNRS Rules, 2000, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. It is stated that on 27.09.2023, the petitioner along with other accused were found in possession of 165 litres of rectified spirit in a TATA Sumo car bearing Regn.No.TN-32-V-6469.

3. It is also stated on behalf of the respondent that the respondent police had recovered the said 165 litres of rectified spirit and there are twelve previous cases pending against the petitioner herein

4. Taking into consideration the antecedents of the petitioner and the nature of offence, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed.
