O R D E R

The petitioners herein apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 4 (1) (A) of the TNP Act Amendment Act 2024 & Transport Act, 2024, in Crime No.494 of 2025 on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail. 1/4

2. The case of the prosecution is that accused A2, A3, and others accused were found illegally transporting 1,500 bottles of Pondy Poisonous Arrack (each bottle containing 180 ml). Hence, the present case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners states that the petitioners are innocent persons and they have been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioners are ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submits that the first petitioner has already been detained under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982. He further contends that the investigation in this case is at a crucial stage. Therefore, he opposed the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

5. Recording the said objection, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed for the present.
