ORDER

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 26.06.2025, for the offences punishable under Sections 194(3) of BNSS @ 1/4

296(b), 85, 49, 108 of BNS and Section 4B(2) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002, in connection with Crime No.179 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent, seeks bail. 2.The wife of the petitioner has committed suicide by jumping into the Well along with her 1 1⁄2 years old daughter. The investigation indicates that due to mental torture caused by this petitioner and others, the victim lady has committed suicide along with her daughter. The post-mortem also revealed that at the time of her death the victim was five months pregnant. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submits that the victim lady was five months pregnant and her in-laws want to ascertain the sex of the child.

While conducting pre-natal test for sex determination illegally, one of the accused arrayed as A7 had reported that the victim is carrying the female foetus. This has caused ruckus in the family and the victim being put to verbal abuse and mental cruelty. This forced the victim lady to jump into the Well along with her daughter, who is 1 1⁄2 years old. He further submits that the post-mortem has now revealed that foetus is a male baby.

4. Considering the fact that investigation is not yet completed, this petition for bail stands dismissed for the present. 21.08.2025 rsi To:
