The petitioner herein was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 04.06.2025 for the offence punishable under Sections 7 & 8 of Protection of Child from Sexual Offence Act 2012 and later altered under Section 4 of 1/4
Protection of Child from Sexual Offence Act, 2012 in Crime No.7 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent police.
2. The case of the prosecution is that, based on a complaint given by the defacto complainant's mother, it is alleged that her minor son, aged 17 years, was sexually assaulted by the petitioner herein. Hence, the complaint.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that the petitioner is a native of Manipur. He further submits that the final report has already been filed and the matter is pending for trial. If the petitioner is released on bail, there is possibility of his abscondence.
4. Considering the nature of offence and the native of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
