PRAYER in W.P.No.29775 of 2023: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to expedite the proceedings in Na.Ka.No.4016/2018/A4, dated 08.02.2019, pending file before the 1st respondent for the belated registration of death extract pertaining to petitioner's father Late.Mr.Karuppaiah, died on 28th August, 1985, within a time frame limit by providing personal hearing to the petitioner.

2. The petitioner had approached the respondents in the year 2019 for issuance of death certificates in respect of his father viz., Karuppaiah and mother, viz., Meenakshiammal, who passed away on 28.08.1985 and 17.05.1986 respectively.

3. The communications in Na.Ka.Nos.4016/2018/A4 and 4017/2018/A4, both dated 08.02.2019, inter se the parties would show that enquiry has been commenced in regard to the request of the petitioner, However, there is no progress in the matter and the matters remain static as on date. Hence, the request for mandamus directing the respondents to complete the enquiry and issue the documents as sought for, at an early date.
4. Learned counsel for the respondents would accede to the factum of delay in these matters and would assure the Court that needful will be done at the earliest.
5. Hence, mandamus is issued to R1 being Revenue Divisional Officer, Central Chennai Revenue Division, Chennai to look into the matters expeditiously, hear the petitioner and any other persons, who may be deemed necessary, and issue death certificates of the petitioner's father and mother in W.P.Nos.29775 and 29773 of 2023 respectively, within a period of six (6) weeks from date of receipt of a copy of this order.
