ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking to issue a writ of mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to grant approval of the appointment of M.Durgadevi in the sanctioned post of Scavenger from the date of her initial appointment (i.e., 01.07.2019) to the petitioner's school, based on the proposal dated 29.08.2019, followed by reminders on 30.03.2021 and 12.11.2024. 2.
The petitioner school is a Minority Educational Institution receiving grant from the Government of Tamil Nadu having sanctioned with teaching and non-teaching staffs as per the norms of the Government. In that, the post of Scavenger fell vacant upon retirement of one Peramma on 30.06.2019 and the management appointed M.Durgadevi in the sanctioned post, who joined duty on 01.07.2019.

The sanctioned post fell vacant and a proposal for approval has been sent to the competent authority on 29.08.2019, followed by reminders dated 30.03.2021 & 12.11.2024, despite 2/5
which no action has been taken by the authority thus far. 4.
Heard both sides.

Considering the narrow scope of the relief sought in this petition and taking into account that the proposal is pending with the third respondent for over six years, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the proposal dated 29.08.2019, followed by reminders dated 30.03.2021 and 12.11.2024, on its own merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders preferably within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner. 6.
This writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
