PRAYER: Contempt Petition has been filed under section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act 1971 to punish the respondents 1 & 2 for their willful disobedience of the order dated 28.10.2022 in W.P.No.28577 of 2022.

O R D E R

This Contempt Petition has been filed by the petitioner for committing wilful disobedience of the order passed by this Court dated 28.10.2022 in W.P.No.28577 of 2022.

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner's representation has been received by the respondent police in CSR No.98 of 2023. After enquiring the dispute i.e. who is the leader of the Tamil Nadu Union of Journalists, they found that it is purely civil in nature which cannot be decided by them. Hence, they advised the parties to decide the issue before the competent Court. Thereafter, closed the representation on 09.03.2023.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the order of this Court dated 28.10.2022 in W.P.No.28577 of 2022 is not considered properly by the respondent police.

4.On perusal of the representation of the petitioner dated 15.10.2022, the prayer is to cancel the permission granted for conducting conference on 30.10.2022 and 31.10.2022, but already the conference was over. Under these circumstances, the petitioner's representation was closed on 09.03.2023 on the ground that the dispute i.e. who is the leader of the Tamil Nadu Union of Journalists, cannot be decided by the police. Accordingly, the Contempt Petition is closed.
