The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) order 1982 r/w 7(1) (a) (ii) of EC Act, 1955, in Crime No.151 of 2023, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the State.

3. It is stated that the petitioner had illegally transported 16,000 Kgs of PDS rice in a Bolero Max Pickup and he was the driver of the lorry. It is further stated that the 1st accused was arrested and remanded to Judicial custody.

4. In view of the large quantity of PDS rice involved, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner and accordingly, this Criminal original petition stands dismissed. 20.10.2023 rka 1/2 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
