For Petitioner : M/s.R.P.Umamaheswari

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner.

2. The revision petitioner is the husband, who has filed O.P.No.1516 of 2024 before the IVth Additional Family Court, Chennai. 1/4

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that disputes arose between the parties as early as 2015, and he had earlier filed a petition seeking divorce. However, in view of a settlement reached between the parties, the earlier petition was not pursued. Despite the settlement, disputes arose again and the petitioner was constrained to file a fresh petition for divorce in the year 2024, and it is his case that the parties have been living separately since 2016.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that pleadings are complete and cross-examination of P.W.1 has been concluded, and the respondent has also filed her proof affidavit. Thereafter, the matter is being delayed.

5. Considering the limited relief sought in this revision petition, I am inclined to dispense with notice to the respondent.

6. Accordingly, the learned IVth Additional Family Court, Chennai, is directed to expedite the trial, which has already commenced, 2/4

and dispose of O.P.No.1516 of 2024, on merits and in accordance with law, on or before 31.01.2026.
