The petitioner was arrested on 21.07.2025 for the alleged possession of 500 kgs of banned tobacco products, which were being transported from Bangalore to Tamilnadu.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the banned tobacco products were seized from the car. He further submitted that the co-accused, who had earlier been granted bail, has failed to comply the condition and is absconding. Since the present petitioner hails from Rajasthan, there is every possibility if released on bail, he may also abscond.

3. Considering the huge quantity of contraband involved, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
