The petitioner seeks bail in Crime No.234 of 2022 registered by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 8(b) r/w 20(b)(ii)(b) of NDPS Act, and Section 14 of Foreigners Act. He was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 25.06.2023.

2. It is stated that the petitioner had been found in possession of 4 Kgs of ganja.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner had obtained B.Sc., degree in Periyar University and had obtained M.Sc., degree in Alagappa University. However, taking into consideration the fact that investigation is still under progress and that there is possibility of the petitioner absconding the trial, at this stage, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. The respondent may file a final report at the earliest.
