This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the first and second respondents not to harass the petitioner in connection with Crime No.16 of 2022 on the file of the first respondent police.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an employee of LNS International Financial Services which is involved in a huge scam of Rs.10,000 Crores and for which, a case has been registered in Crime No.16 of 2022 on the file of the first respondent police; the grievance of the petitioner is that in the name of enquiry, he is being called to make his appearance before the Police Station on several days and his skill in typography is being misused by the Station House Officer for the purpose of completing the typing works connected to the other cases and further his car was also seized without any authentication by the police.
4. The petitioner has listed out the days during which he was present in the police station for enquiry. It is seen from the list that atleast for 15 days, the 2/4
petitioner is seen to have been present on the call made by the first respondent.
5. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that since the scam is very huge and lot of details need to be collected from the petitioner who was working as an Accountant under A7 and A11, he is required to be called for enquiry; it is further submitted that more than one lakh customers have deposited their money with the LNS International Financial Services.
6. Though it is understandable that in a case of that magnitude, the petitioner who was working as an Accountant with A7 and A11 need to be present and answerable for the queries made by the first respondent, the respondents shall not harass the petitioner in any manner that has been observed supra, while conducting enquiry. Since the allegation made against the respondents cannot be taken lightly, I feel it is appropriate to direct the Superintendent of Police, EOW-II Wing, Ashok Nagar, Chennai, to monitor the investigation and see such abuse is not done during enquiry.
