This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to reissue the passport to the petitioner by considering his application No.MA1075853033323 dated 06.10.2023 submitted before the first respondent within the time frame as fixed by this Court.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner is the passport holder and his passport has been damaged for which he made an application before the first respondent on 06.10.2023. However, the first respondent called for an explanation about the case in Cr.No.1662 of 2015 on the file of the second respondent. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the FIR is not a bar for issuing a passport and therefore, this Court may direct the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioners application within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent submitted that the application will be considered and orders will be passed 2/4

within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this court directs the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's application dated 06.10.2023 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
