The petitioners herein were arrested on 23.07.2025 in connection with Crime No.129 of 2025 for the offence punishable under Sections 127(2), 115(2), 1/4

118(1), 308(4) and 351(2) of BNS, 2023.

2. The First Information Report indicates that a group of migrant workers from Jharkand, while proceeding to Kerala, were intercepted by several accused persons and confined in a room on a false promise of being given jobs in Namakkal. When that was refused by the migrant workers, they were brutally beaten and their belongings were robbed. There are seven accused in this case and the present petitioners are A5 and A7.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that nothing was recovered from the 2nd petitioner /A7 and no previous case has been registered against him.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police opposed the grant of bail to the petitioners and submitted that the accused in this case are involved in a similar offence and substantial material extorted from the victims are recovered. He further submitted that the investigation is yet to be completed. If the petitioners are released on bail, they may indulge in similar offences 2/4
