The Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner/A2 seeking to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.490 of 2024 pending on the file of the first respondent Police. 1/4

Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record. 3.

Based on the complaint given by the de facto complainant/second respondent, alleging that her husband was kidnapped and kept in illegal detention for ransom, a case in Crime No.490 of 2024 was registered against the petitioner and three others for the offences under Sections 137(2) and 127(2) of BNS and was later altered to one under Sections 140(2), 351(2) and 61(2) of BNS.

Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the first respondent submitted that the investigation in this case is still pending.

A bare reading of the First Information Report indicates that the allegations are serious in nature and require a detailed investigation. Therefore, this Court does not find any valid ground to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.490 of 2024. Hence, the FIR cannot be quashed.
