ORDER
(Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.) This habeas corpus petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a direction to the first and second respondents to produce her son viz. M.Praveen, S/o.T.A.Murugesan, aged about 41 years, before this Court and set him at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that her son Praveen, aged about 41 years, went missing from 07.05.2022 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure him.

Today, K.Selvaraj (Mobile No.94981 72674), Special SubInspector of Police, Selvapuram Police Station, Coimbatore District, is present.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Selvapuram Police Station Crime No.152 of 2022 was registered on 13.05.2022 for "manmissing" and investigation is in progress. He further submitted that even according to the petitioner, her son Praveen was married to one Panjali and also got divorced and after divorce, he was in a state of depression and was mentally unwell.

In such view of the matter, we direct the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kuniyamuthur Range, Coimbatore District, to supervise in the investigation in Crime No.152 of 2022 that is being conducted by the Inspector of Police, Selvapuram Police Station, Coimbatore District and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenu Praveen, aged about 41 years, is secured, he shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court No.V, Coimbatore District, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate may pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
