PRAYER:

Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the first, second and third respondents to provide adequate police protection for the safety, security and protection to the lives and property of the petitioner, fifth respondent, general public, management officials, staffs and other workers from the illegal acts of the fourth respondent, their henchman, supporters at MVR Toll Plaza, Kottagoundampatty Village, Omalur. For Petitioner : Mr.Inthu Karunakaran For Respondents: Mr.C.Iyyapparaj Additional Public Prosecutor for R1 to R3

O R D E R

Apprehending that the staff of the petitioner company would create disturbance to their business with regard to claim of the bonus, which was due during the Diwali period, the present petition has been filed seeking for police protection. 2.It is stated that the demand with regard to payment has now been settled and that during the relevant period, the respondent police have also extended necessary protection. In view of this, the original cause of action, for which the Writ Petition came to be pre-dominantly filed, has lapsed. As such, it would not be appropriate to consider the prayer for police protection at this juncture.

3.Nevertheless, the petitioner is aggrieved or any other further cause of action, wherein they apprehend disturbances, which might require protection, it is open to the petitioner to approach the concerned Police Officials seeking for necessary protection.

4.With this observation, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
